The Bulkley Valley Genealogical Society(BVGS) was incorporated in 1996 under the Societies Act of B.C. We are also a charitable society. We have one room at the Learning Centre next to Muheim School on 3rd Avenue and have access to a large meeting room. Our members invite public access to an extensive library, microfiche readers, a microfilm reader-printer, scanner-photocopier and computers with highspeed internet access. We provide an active genealogy education and outreach program to the Bulkley Valley, from the Hazeltons to Burns Lake. Members' research areas have included Ontario, USA, UK, Ireland, Italy, as well as central and eastern Europe.
The purposes of the society are to create and foster an interest in genealogy, preserve data, assist those persons interested in compiling their family history and to share ideas that aid in accurate research in genealogy.
